The strange thing is, many people are searching for ways to make some good money on the internet and forget about the obvious.  I’m often surprised how many people say ” I don’t know what to sell on ebay”, or “can you really make money on ebay”. Well the truth is you can sell pretty much anything & yes you can make good money. OK it isn’t a “make money while you sleep” thing and does take some work, bit it’s better that some so called schemes & really pays off.

After you have exhausted selling stuff lying around the home that you no longer want, you do need to find a product, but that is so easy.

Think about what your “niche” is. We are all experts at something. It might be coin collecting, stamps, football programs, gardening, whatever, the point is that you are probably an expert in something, so cash in on that expertise.

For me its photography & books, so that’s where I concentrate. I know about vintage camera’s & photographic equipment, so I buy it & sell it. Just for example, I do some leg work & get up early at the weekends to attend local boot sales. I will buy up old darkroom equipment, cameras, anything that I think could be resold. I might pay between £15.00 and £20.00 for a box of assorted bits and pieces, clean them up & resell them seperatly on ebay. If I invest £20 I would expect to get back between £100 & £150.

A few months ago I spotted an old camera on a stall. It was priced at £7.00, which after a bit of a haggle I bought for £5.00. I cleaned it up, tested it & took some great photos of it. I spent time writing a very detailed listing  (this is very important by the way). The camera sold for £740. That is a genuine story, and of course doesn’t happen every week, but a box of 15 lens filters for a couple of quid will earn about £30.00 profit, and  that does.

How did I know the camera was collectable, it’s my niche, that’s how. The right model Polariod camera worth £1.00 at a boot fair will make £12 to £15 on ebay.
